Last night we went into the Bay County Fair to go to the rodeo and started by walking the midway- it didn't take long, 'bout 2 minutes. I actually thought we had gone back in time to the June Festival in my hometown, it was so small. One of the first people I noticed was this young man walking towards us with a giant cat shirt. The next person that really stood out to me was a young woman with a belly shirt and her belly was the size of Alabama.
We sat down in the stands at the rodeo and began to people watch. This old lady dancing in her seat to some country song caught my eye. One guy has a tie dyed tanktop on, it's bright fuschia and purple and teal, it goes really well with his long gray hair. Then one young mom has her shorts on with a small hole on the backside, at first I wasn't sure if I was seeing her butt or underwear, but then I realized it was both. There's some cute kids with their cowboy boots and hats, but I feel like they are outnumbered by all the special people. There's a girl sitting in front of me with a hat on that says, "Shooting deer and drinking beer. That's how I roll." Really?
There's another woman sitting down during the rodeo swaying to the music, cheering for the cowboys and laughing hysterically for the clown. I would say she's enjoying herself. She looks normal... This must be her thing. So then the announcer is on a horse and you wouldn't know he is talking because of the handlebar mustache; this is the man who prayed before the rodeo started and said, "athanky", which I think is country for "I thank you".
It's just a new experience for me. I went to a rodeo several years ago with my sister, Anne and some friends. (Incidentally Anne is the one who invited me to this one too.) We got bored and left early at my first one. Anne was not happy with us. Well, this one may be my last.
And the older lady and the other one are still dancing, now to Apple Bottom Jeans and Paul says, "Get it girl." Just no, it's getting out of control here. The next song is "Uptown Funk" and I swear there is a different older woman standing up and dancing. I'm not sure what is going on. Did I mention that we don't fit in here?
