Case 1: President Bill Clinton, did some unsavory things in the Oval Office. News media was all over that, all the Republicans wanted to impeach him, and he survived that experience. Case 2: Justin Beiber, has had an amazing singing career and now apparently can't control himself and keeps getting arrested. Late night shows are making fun of him and people are smearing him through the mud. This whole time I haven't heard anyone say "choose honor" when talking about Beiber.
Here's the final case #3, Joel Osteen and Mark Driscoll. Both widely known preachers, both going through the media. One for something said that the public does NOT agree with, and one for misuse of ministry funds and being asked to step down from preaching by his board. I've always liked to listen to Joel Osteen, he's very positive and preaches hope, but I'm not going to defend him for what was said. I wasn't in the service, I don't know the context of what was said. I follow Mark Driscoll on Twitter, but we are not BFF,, if he's using ministry money inappropriately, then he needs to be held accountable. Though we are Christians and we honor people by not talking smack about them, we also need to realize that Christian preachers can't shove under the rug their dirty deeds, they also must be held accountable. Just like Justin Beiber, pop star, and just like Bill Clinton, former president.
There was a married woman on a reality show I watch. She was flirting with a boy for days on end and all America was able to see this on TV. She was stuck in a house with no way to be able to communicate with the outside world, when she got voted out of the house, and went to her exit interview, an audience was waiting. They booed her. She had no clue that her flirtatious actions which she claims were part of the game, were not viewed that way by her husband, her parents, or America. In the words of Ricky Ricardo, "Lucy, you got a lot of 'splainin to do!"
